Love is never enough! Its such a shame that Ghanaian star
actor, Chris Attoh and Tinsel actress, Damilola Adegbite have added to the long
list of divorced celebrities as Chris confirmed his divorce from Damilola
yesterday.
There is a wise saying that there is no smoke without fire.
For over a year now, there have been several rumours that the marriage of these
two upcoming stars have hit the rock but Chris was always quick to deny it and
always do claim all is well with his family but sadly the fire has now spread
so wide and the smoke can no longer be covered.
Truth is, Dami truly did love Chris but unfortunately Chris
couldn’t meet her demand and you know the thing with no finance in romance, it
frustrates you especially when you are already used to a particular lifestyle.
As a supposed big girl, when your situationship becomes the talk of town and so
many whispers, only the very patient like the Annie Idibia’s can still keep
their head high and hold on to their man.
Ermm, what am I driving at. Well, we all know Dami is a
Nigerian, a ‘Lagos big girl’ prior to her marriage. She had to relocate to
Ghana with her now ex husband after marriage. She did quit Tinsel and gave it
all for a blissful life with Chris. Unfortunately, it wasn’t as rosy as she
imagined. She had to start looking for movie roles; she got some auditions but
unfortunately lover boy could not afford her flight ticket fees to Nigeria on
several occasions. The flight tickets brouhaha did fan the rumours about the ex
couple.
Insiders claimed that lover boy did try his best. To meet
the demands of his growing needs, he had to be jumping from set to set; local
and international which indirectly brought in problem two; inability to meet
his wife emotional needs. The centre could no longer hold water hence the
divorce decision.
I really do feel bad for Chris. He was lacking in his pocket
and many men were still flaunting plenty cash for his wife. Who knows she
probably took a walk because she respects the sanctity of marriage. Rumour also
had it that that husband man was domineering and use to hit pretty ‘sisi’.
The deed has already been done. I just wish others would learn
from their story. As ladies, you have to choose your battle carefully. If you
are a money freak, you have no business with a fine boy who is still struggling
unless your pay check is as big as that of Tiwa Savage or as fat as Linda Ikeji’s.
As for our struggling brothers, e go definitely better but marrying a ‘big girl’
is not an achievement. Go for your class or better still a big-seriously rich
girl not all those wannabes.
I wish, hope and pray that despite parting ways, Dami and
Chris would choose the path of peace for the sake of their adorable son…..
