Olympics 2016; Nigerian Athletes Beg For Cash Online as Buhari Says 'No Money' for Funding

Another reason to be ashamed of my dear country, too many set backs trying to frustrate our little efforts but we will never relent in our struggle to make this country a better place for us all.

It is often said that little drops of water makes an ocean but it seems our country has defiled that inspirational quote. I have be forced to ask this question, a thousand and one more time, Is it that there is no good person in governance? If there is; how come representative from diverse political parties in Nigeria over the years seem to have same wicked heart towards those who vote then to power. They amass so much wealth insuring the generations unborn of their families to the 1000th generation at the detriment of the poor masses.

My head aches from trying to analyse the desperate wickedness of the corrupt personnel who are so selfish that they  would rather pick the crumbles that falls from their table than allow a dying beggar get a little from it. How else can we explain that a country as rich as Nigeria has refused to sponsor her athletes for the Rio Olympics,2016 and these passionate youths have run to the Internet for help.

The long hours of training, the broken arm, the discomfort, the strive, the challenges, the will, falling seven times and rising the 8th, just to represent a country who leaders have continually stabbed us. When we dare ask for a bandage, they stab us the more.

I know some of you might want to say; why not stay back, afterall the Government are ingrate but then again we can never really understand what passion and drive is and the length passionate people could go to achieve their aim.

Some might want to call the action of these athletes embarrassing but I would rather term it 'heroic'. The joke is rather on the big bellied, old, never satisfied leaders who are bent on ruining our beloved country. Thankfully the world is now a global village square and they are now dancing to the wicked drum they have been beating.

Here is to every athlete representing Nigeria in the Rio Olympics, 2016 against all odds; May your efforts never be in vain, Amen!
