After the Oba ascended the throne, yesterday 20th October which coincidentally was his 63rd birthday, King Ewuare II made a very important correction. He said he is the 40th Oba of Benin Kingdom and not the 39th as reported by the media and felt it was important to correct the notion.

The coronation ceremony of the new Oba of Benin was an eye opener that came with lots of revelations. My previous update revealed that the Oba has already chosen  three virgin girls to be his bride.

Two days prior to the grand coronation ceremony , the new Oba was at Useh where two significant events were carried out. He chose a name he will be called when he is finally crowned and chose his 4th virgin bride who eventually will be the crown Queen of the Benin Kingdom. Having had three prior to his coronation, and considering the three virgin brides picked earlier, the last virgin bride is officially his 7th wife.

I have been seeing quite a few of them especially at supermarkets and banks but instead of appearing in the full glory of fame having that charisma that is expected of a celebrity, sadly all I see were men in tartars who could be mistaken for motor park touts. They look so unkempt and the stench from some of them could make one go mad and this is me not being sarcastic.
